Lt Col Cecil D. Ferguson, USMC. He was the Commanding Officer,
3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment when we were in Nara, Japan.

He, Ben Hoover and I were roommates
in a 3 bedroom houses (quarters) next to our Regimental CO.
The Battalion and our Regimental staff occupied an old Japanese
military compound on the outskirts of Nara. Not sure if I have
a good picture of the compound which would be great, because
it was a typical military post, very old and in excellent condition.
General Hart - RB had arranged for the caretaker to be at the
Big Bell to ring it for the General. On arrival, the caretaker
was on a lunch break.
The General was not pleased.
