Acquired on Kwajalein - 1950 to 1952

"This plaque was a surprise gift from the Marshallese Constabulary Guard School on Majuro Island. They had completed one with the rank of Captain. When Platoon Sergeant Dudley, USMC., the NCO in charge of training the Guard brought it to Kwajalein to give to me, I had just been promoted to Major. He took it back and the Marshallese made the new one for me." (R.B Thompson, Jr.)

Note that "Thompson" has a spelling correction, as the second 'O' was originally omitted.

These were a gift from the Marshallese people to Mrs. Thompson. We are not sure exactly where they were made.
