| This beautiful model canoe is one of two given as a gift to Major Rufus B. Thompson, Jr., USMC, from the Marshallese people between 1950 and 1952. It is in original condition, except for the sail lacing and some of the mast support lines. | Model is complete with two oars and a bailer. |

| This is all original construction. | Interesting how the two halves (top and bottom) of the hull are tied together. The grain between the two halves is a match, so this may have been done to access the inside of the hull. |
